This game was supposed to be ported on Megadrive under the name "Tenkuu Retsuden Musashi" (translates from Japanese as 'Tales of heaven'), by Kaneko. 'Musashi' is the name of a legendary samurai, it then means a great warrior. The port was cancelled.

- 0.144u7: David Haywood fixed Kabuki-Z graphic corruption in debug build.
- 0.143u8: Kanikani fixed difficulty DIPSW (EASY and MEDIUM is reversed) and added DIP locations to Kabuki-Z.
- 0.128u1: Added 5x 'Unused' dipswitches.
- 0.122u7: Changed Z80 CPU3 clock speed to 6MHz.
- 0.122u2: Changed Z80 CPU2 clock speed to 4MHz.
- 0.95u3: Pierpaolo Prazzoli added samples to Kabuki-Z with a new redumped rom for cpu3 too and fixed the garbage colors at startup. Added DAC sound.
- 0.91u2: Nicola Salmoria added sprite buffering to the TNZS driver. Fixes Kabuki-Z sprites and backgrounds, though there might still be a few glitches. Fixed sound - Game now playable.
- 0.90u3: Added Kabuki-Z (World). Renamed (kabukiz) to (kabukizj).
- 0.90: Pierpaolo Prazzoli added Kabuki-Z (Japan) (Taito 1988).
- 24th December 2004: Pierpaolo Prazzoli - Quick addition to tnzs driver. Still no sound and lots of sprites glitches in Kabuki-Z.
- 20th December 2004: Corrado Tomaselli dumped Kabuki-Z (Japan) sample rom.
- 20th December 2004: Guru - Kabuki Z (Taito 1988) arrived. Thanks to the good guys at the Italian MAME Forum!
